A new regatta across the North Sea
Convoy Cup North Sea Race - from Skudeneshavn, Norway to Kirkwall, Orkney - starting 4th of July 2010 13.00 hours. We hope to seeing YOU take part in this great event next year...
This is a new regatta organized by Karmøy Seilforening, Orkney Sailing Club, Stord Seilforening and Skudenes Sjømannsforening. It is based on experiences from the formerly North Sea Yacht Race from Stavanger (and one time Skudeneshavn) to Banff in Scotland. That race had its last crossing in 2008.
Now is the time to look forward and create something new, to attract the sailors with new challenges and focus on new horizones. We all hope that this new regatta will succeed.
The race will be governed by the NORLYS Rules as class rules, which means that boats must have a valid LYS-certificate. If you need a LYS-certificate, you can either 1) get a valid IRC-certificate converted, 2) get your boat measured by an appointed measurer in UK, who report to NORLYS or 3) get your boat measured in Skudeneshavn prior to the race.
Welcome to Skudeneshavn - from The Committee
